Christmas tree wishes in Fukushima prefecture

Christmas trees line the pavements of the main street outside Koriyama station.  On one tree, coloured cards cut into the shape of stockings hang from the branches.  In a break from tradition, on each card, Year 6 children from a nearby primary school have written Christmas wishes.   Some of their wishes might come true……

I wish that someday I can eat a big baked custard pudding.

I want to be able to play freely outside.

I wish that the radiation will disappear as soon as possible.

I wish that I will be able to return to my home town of Futaba (in the 20km exclusion zone).
